Jennifer Lopez is amongst the listing of famous people less than fireplace for attending Dolce & Gabbana’s opulent fashion exhibit in Venice. 

On Sunday, stars like Lopez, Jennifer Hudson, Helen Mirren, Christian Bale, Bebe Rexha and Kourtney Kardashian attended the Italian trend brand’s Alta Moda exhibit in St. Mark’s Square. The star-studded function has sparked outrage on the internet, with quite a few supporters critiquing the A-list visitor checklist for “shamelessly supporting” the brand’s co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, which have confronted criticism for alleged racist, homophobic and fatphobic conduct. 

As pics from Dolce & Gabbana’s event commenced circulating online, vogue columnist, Evan Ross Katz, took to Instagram to share a “temporary explainer” on the brand’s problematic past. 

“D&G’s co-founders Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have offered ‘slave sandals,’ openly opposed homosexual adoption, and mocked folks boycotting their brand name for dressing the Trumps,” the write-up reads. “Dolce has called toddlers born by means of in vitro fertilization ‘synthetic,” while Gabbana has claimed sexual harassment is ‘not violence,’ and termed Selena Gomez ‘so unpleasant,’ Miley Cyrus ‘ignorant’ and critics of the brand’s ‘I’m thin and gorgeous’ sneakers ‘fat and complete of cholesterol.'”

The write-up was met with praise for keeping the model accountable, and prompted lots of followers to tag famous people, like Lopez, as very well as movie star stylists who attended the party.

In 2018, the manufacturer was in hot water but once again right after releasing a series of controversial advertisements in advance of Dolce & Gabbana’s style present in Shanghai. Just one of the brand’s commercials showcased a Chinese model battling to try to eat pizza and cannolis utilizing chopsticks which have been deemed “racist” and “insensitive.” 

Next the backlash, screenshots of messages allegedly despatched by Gabbana were being leaked online. In just one concept, Gabbana allegedly explained China as “the nation of” just before incorporating a sequence of emojis to characterize feces.
